Ganges Brasserie - Brighton and Hove

Having had a wonderful meal from Ganges Brasserie previously we decided to order another take-away. What a BIG mistake! The food was nowhere near the previous quality. How different.

The food was mostly good. Wine by the glass was ok too. Friendly waiter. Unfortunately service wasn’t great, we were at the back of the restaurant. We tried to get his attention and noticed that each time he looked like he was going to walk towards us he got stopped by people at other tables and then didn’t come back. Maybe they were short staffed.

We come all the way over from Shoreham for this restaurant as it ticks all the boxes, delicious food, top service and reasonable prices. Tandoori Lamb chops to die for

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised by the positive experience, which contrasted with some of the reviews I had read. The staff greeted us warmly and the drinks and popadoms were served promptly as we made our meal selections. I opted for a mild chicken dish due to biting my tongue earlier in the day, and it was freshly made and delicious. The Naan bread was also freshly cooked and a perfect accompaniment. My friend's choice of a Madras curry was equally tasty and the rice was fresh and fluffy. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary brandies with our bill. Now that's excellent service! Thank you, Ganges!
