Pioneer Smokehouse And Mercantile

I've been there twice and I think the bbq is pretty good. It has a nice smoky flavor and generally a good taste. The baked potato with bbq and fixings was excellent according to my wife. One thing we both noticed was that the bbq sauce wasn't the best. It was kinda sweet and had a spicy kick but to me it really let the meat down. The other thing I've noticed both times I've been there is that it takes FOREVER for them to bring out your food and for the life of me I can't understand why. I mean all they have to do is slice up a little brisket and sausage and put them in a plate but it takes 20-30 minutes. A huge plus for Pioneer is that on Saturday night they are open until 11pm.

I asked for a few jalapenos on my sandwich. When I opened it, it was full of jalapenos. Way too many. Like someone had taken a handful and thrown it on the sandwich. Meat wasn't as tender as other I've tasted. People are very nice and attentive. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner
