Oriental Restaurant - Brantford

I've been in the Orient for over 40 years. It is unpredictable, friendly with good, reliable food. It is not contemporary or particularly authentic. It is Chinese comfort. Always hot and delicious. The chicken broth, the basis for most of her soups, is the best I had in any Chinese restaurant anywhere. Just remember that I can taste it now! The Oriental is a Brantford institution. And right.

Ignore You the Naysayers on this page, the Oriental is excellent where it counts food and service. All at reasonable prices! For example, if you go for lunch (and our COVID rules allow it) you usually have your lunch in less than 10...minutes of the order. Who can ask more in a sit down restaurant? We support and honor our local businesses people!

So disappointed. A dinner ordered for one. Almond soo type was very dry, no crushed almonds, and hardly engraving. Much too much rice and the egg roll was placed on the rice, so it very wound with the cover on the pull-out dinner....Wish they used the cut take plates with a dome cover like the mandarin. Soup was good. Chow my was good, but didn't see any difference as it said it was done in Wok

Unfortunately, after 25 years of order from Oriental, I placed my last order on Thursday. Although the dishes were hot (because the dishes did not begin to cook until I arrived what was 40 minutes after the order) All dishes were extremely dirty, meat was overcooked and dry, shrimps were muddy. (all my dishes were veg protein-based) The vegetables were still crispy and not cooked over, so I have to give them that. But everything else was unacceptable.

Can't express how disappointing our order was this evening. After 50 years of ordering from the Oriental sadly we will not order here again. We ordered take out, the rice was over cooked, the sweet and sour ribs were mostly grizzle very little meat and...the chick balls were nothing like they once were, it was mostly hard breading... Disappointing food
