The Dalgety Public House

Visiting from New Zealand for Christmas, I had a fantastic experience at this pub. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. We'll be returning next year!

The staff who served us were fantastic—polite and attentive, so a big shoutout to them! For our appetizer, we ordered the Arancini balls, which arrived promptly but were unfortunately only warm on the outside and not hot in the center. The flavor and presentation were good, but the temperature was a letdown. For the main course, I had the 400g Wagyu steak cooked medium-rare. This dish also came out quickly, and the only changes I would suggest are to ease up on the dressing for the salad and to enhance the pepper sauce, as it lacked a strong pepper flavor. The chips were crispy and perfectly cooked. Would I order this again? Absolutely. Would I return to The Dalgety? Definitely. The ambiance of the restaurant is relaxed yet upscale, without being too extravagant. The wooden walls and numerous beautiful plants create a lovely atmosphere. You have the option to enjoy a charming indoor setting or sit outside, where you can unwind and watch the world go by while savoring a good meal.

We asked our waitress for her recommendations on the best appetizers, and we followed her suggestions—they were all fantastic! For my main course, I had a vegetable stack with a salad, which was delicious. I left before my friends, who ended up ordering some excellent fish and chips, steak, and sliders.

Loved the lamb chops and the pizza! If you are looking for a place to go for a quick but yummy bite before or after a show this is the perfect venue. Not one for sit down dining but perfect for a yummy, quick and affordable meal.

Great atmosphere, location and setting. Had a great time having a few beers and having a great tasting meal. I would of given you guys a 5 out of 5 however the Toad in a Hole ain 't no 'Big Feed '. One little sausage in a tiny pot might be 'Big ' for a 12 year old but not this big guy! Up size that meal and you got yourself a regular!
