Abbott's Frozen Custard - Boston

I really needed a couple pints of custard (just had oral surgery and smooth cold custard is very soothing) so I dropped by on my way back home from Allston. Didn 't have an ice pack or cooler in the car, so I was a little nervous about the 50 minute drive home, but decided to take the risk anyways. I got the espresso and cake batter, both flavors I hadn 't tried before, bundled them up in my coat together and blasted the AC. All was well--nothing melted!! The espresso is my new favorite flavor. The cake batter is a little too sweet but tastes just like cake batter (it 's also creamier). The texture of the custard in these pints is soft and smooth if you take them out of the freezer a few minutes before consuming, but not as 'custardy ' as if you had ordered a scoop at the store. I wanted to do so, but was too full after my meal, and I needed more to tide me over when it 's too painful to eat a real meal. The server was friendly and apologetic that they didn 't have something to keep the custard cold for the ride home (but I don 't blame her for that--not even sure what I was expecting when I asked). I do wish I could have tried the flavors I got before buying the pints, but they go by a limited flavor list every day and those two were not on it that day.

Yum! We came here after eating at MDM noodles across the street. It was the perfect dessert! They have a small selection of flavors, maybe 10 or so. They also make ice cream sandwiches, cakes, etc. We decided to get single scoops +1 for being able to do 2 flavors in a single scoop). We tried the mint chip, strawberry, and fudge cheesecake. All were delicious and not overly sweet. On the plus side, the ice creams were so soft and not icy! Definitely will come back to try all the flavors!

They are so nice in here! The first time I went I got a black raspberry milkshake. Then I got a bunch of take-out frozen custard on other visits. First I tried their turtle. They come in different flavors. I got one with vanilla one with chocolate. I think the vanilla compliments the chocolate coating best. The salty peanuts are really good inside, and it's also filled with fudge. On the last visit I got a pint of strawberry and pint of coffee. That should last me. Great for an after work pick-me-up, with whipped cream ; . Maybe I'll get some more stuff to make sundaes some time.

Nothing special about frozen custard. Being that I never tried it before. As far as the business is concerned it is very clean and a welcome addition to Brighton center.

So yummy! This place is so cute. Place on the corner of an intersection with lots of windows and sunshine. Such a cute place for pictures or studying. Several flavors that change daily. I tried the vanilla kit kat which was a little too sweet for me, so I went with classic strawberry. Frozen custard is very creamy and soft, similar to soft ice cream but possibly creamier. Would definitely come back!
