Bidra med feedbackI absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for years for their seafood, particularly the haddock, clams, and calamari. The portions are huge, and the quality is excellent. Their handmade onion rings are unbeatable. This year, my husband tried the steak and cheese sub and proclaimed it the best in the state. We definitely want to sample the creative pizzas, but it's tough to step away from our favorites! I would love to see an additional seafood dipping sauce added, aside from tartar, as a future option.
I ordered the Haddock Ruben, while my wife chose one of the personal-sized pizza specials. Both dishes were excellent. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. It's a peaceful spot away from the noisy and bustling Main Street. The outdoor picnic tables are well-spaced, making for a comfortable dining experience.
It's hard to find anything decent for that price these days—my last cappuccino in town was around $5.50 (with an extra shot). Most hamburgers start at around $15. However, for just $6, I got a New York-style pizza with two vegetable toppings (as shown in the picture), and it was ready in just five minutes, even during a busy dinner rush. Quite impressive! As for the taste, it was solid. The dough was soft and fragrant, although a bit lacking in flavor. It was nice not to have a greasy pie, which is a definite plus! The toppings tasted fresh, and the cheese was standard but more abundant than the sign suggested. The sign indicated that the $6 pizza would have fewer toppings and cheese than usual, but honestly, I wouldn't have wanted any more; the balance was just right. The sauce was okay, but it had a hint of that basil that leans more towards mint than the robust basil flavor I prefer, which slightly affected the overall taste. I also had a strange sensation that I was tasting toppings I hadn't ordered, which was a bit unsettling. Still, when I reflect on the terrible food I've eaten in the past just because it was cheap, this pizza was a delight by comparison. I genuinely wish I could give this place 4.5 stars, simply for the value. While I really appreciate good, affordable food, it wasn't quite a five-star product—after all, how could it be at that price? Still, compared to the artisan pizza down the road, which costs twice as much and takes longer to prepare, this place holds its own. I wish they could stay open longer this season, though my waistline is probably thankful they can’t!
