New China Buffet - Boone

The staff is always friendly, and the tables and buffet bar are consistently clean, as are the other areas of the restaurant. There’s a fantastic selection of buffet meals, all of which are delicious. It's definitely a great value for the price.

When the fresh food was brought out to the buffet, it was absolutely delicious. Two ladies managed the entire floor, ensuring that drinks were always refilled and empty plates were promptly taken away. They worked incredibly quickly and with a friendly demeanor. It was definitely worth leaving a generous tip!

What really stands out is the way they ask for tips. Twice now, after I’ve settled my bill—which has increased and now offers fewer items on the buffet—I have encountered servers who loudly and confrontationally asked me, “No tip?” right in my face, practically demanding extra money after an already high bill. As a student navigating a world of rising costs, with two jobs that require a daily commute and a lot of gas, I’m trying to save every penny I can. I’ve never experienced such blatant requests for tips before, and it feels incredibly rude and inappropriate. Because of this, I’m not planning to return for quite some time. It’s unfortunate because the food is genuinely good.
