Bidra med feedbackWe had a delicious bowl of soup and a Empanada Saturday in El Panoptico, the magnificent cafe in the Museo Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. After visiting the museum we were wonderfully supported by Daisy, who helped us get a taxi. She was fantastic. Thank you, just like Javier, your husband. This is a convenient place for lunch or a snack. Her daughter was best happy to support the server in the presentation of menus and lighting tasks. The simple and friendly way of staff was great. A place to return.
Amazing difference with the rest of Bogota, level of cooking preparation and style. Cold Papa is with a white sauce I don't understand what he tries to explain, but tasted delicious. Salad of fruit or root, with spices and spicy. Eat here or Mine Mal. Thank you for having me.
Great place, fast service, waiters were very attentive. The menu had a nice selection of fusion Colombian plates. Many choose from
This restaurant is way different to most restaurants in Bogota. Typical food usually means Ajiaco or Bandeja Paisa, but here they offer typical food from all regions in the country including Amazonian and Pacific food (which is almost impossible to be found in this city)....They have menus in English if you ask for them, and the description of the food actually corresponds to what you will eat. The food is absolutely delicious, I would recommend Tumaco or Chorizo santarrosano as starters. Pusandao is typical from the Pacific coast and the smoky flavor is awesome, not to mention the size of the soup (humongous). In the menu they do not offer ice cream but they sell ice cream from non traditional fruits, such as Araza and Corozo. Every single human should have the opportunity to visit this place, it is amazing.
I 'm still wondering why this is the first review in TripAdvisor, since El Panóptico is one of the best restaurants in Bogota, not just any restaurant. Beside the fact that it is located at the National Museum of Colombia (housed in a former prison of...panoptic design), El Panoptico offers a menu of very special Colombian dishes, some of which you will not find =in any other restaurant. Chef Eduardo Martínez es not only preserving a tradition that has been lost, but is also innovating and educating on regional Colombian cuisine. Try, for example, the pusandao from the Pacific region, a great dish, and for dessert the Torta de almojabana. And try the delicious natural fruit juices, most of them you have probably never heard of before. This a small but cozy restaurant, with tables inside and outside in the (former) prison garden. Since you will be probably visiting the museum, this is the right place to have lunch.
