Bidra med feedbackA bad experience with a badly spoken menu and service that could not even apologize. The restaurant menu offers Parrillada de mariscos (Seafood-Grill) and it is only deep fried seafood, totally fat. When they were mentioned to the waitresses, they said nothing to the administrator. As the...administrator just said parrillada in Peru means something else. And since it is a Peruvian restaurant, the menu is clear. Not even an apology or an intention to correct the menu. If you want to pay 55,000 COP for deep-fried fish pieces, it is for you.
The restaurant was close to the hotel so that the need to avoid negotiating some scary streets (cops, junkies and drunk much in evidence). The decor is unusual and pleasant, interesting menu. Eating really good. Prices reasonable, but not cheap. Reservative recommend.
I went here on a weekday afternoon with 3 colleagues, one of whom had received a local recommendation for this restaurant, as a great place for Peruvian food. We were the only customers, and the venue is the inner, covered courtyard of a building on...a side street of Candelaria, which also serves as a small music venue. It's not luxurious; more a bit rustic. The menu has a lot of standard Colombian dishes, but the chef, who is also the owner, specializes in Peruvian food. He also is a jazz lover and a character. We tried sampling of ceviches, all of which were excellent and unexpected, along with delicious Pisco sours make with Maracuya juice. We each had a different entree, which combined various kinds of seafood or chicken with rice and spices. Everything was delicious, and the entree were all in the range of $10-13 US.
We finally found Casa de Citas, enticed by the offer of a free glass of wine by the hotel we were staying at. We received a surly welcome from a very bored waitress. A real shame as the food was fine but our wine order...arrived after we had finished and we then had to wait for it to cook sufficiently to drink. In most Colombian restaurants they politely ask whether you would like to add the tip but here it was added automatically. Overall the most disappointing experience we have had in a month in Colombia.
We ordered a soup for starter and a fish and a beef dish for the main courses. The soup tasted like it was made from a bag and the main couses seemed to be not fresh and just microwaved.. felt realy bad after the meal.....don't eat here..
