White Oak Pastures Farm General Store

It wasn't really what I expected after I looked at her website. they have a nice little land, general store setup, but my family and I were in the ground shoved past the way, which seemed to be a budding native who crowded the place. I don't know if that's the normal thing, but some people who were obviously not tourist seemed to mill around in the load waiting for food from a food snack from the back. if you want to look past natives to extremely high price drinks and unique food items, this could be place for them. I don't recommend it.

Order #108565I ordered 2 packs of beef tendon. When I received the package yesterday I was excited to try my first order. When I opened the styrofoam box a wave of hot humid air came out and hit me in the face. I knew that there was no way I could eat anything in there. I looked inside and found a plastic bag that says “ice” on it but no signs of melted ice or any pool of water. There was some moisture but probably from the melting of the tendon package. Clearly there wasn’t enough water inside the box to show me that there was enough ice in the bag for the journey. The package of tendons were warmer than the temperature of my hands.. I’m upset bc I paid more for shipping that the actual product but whatever. I don’t have the time or energy to argue or beg for my money back. Keep it, enjoy it.

Have purchased several products in the past year or so including beef pork and chicken ,all fantastic except the chicken. It is leathery tough and sinewy no matter how it is cooked unless in a crock pot. I emailed customer service and the response was hopefully you will try our chicken again. Should be advertised as old stewing hens not suitable for the grill or smoker.

Interesting little find on our drive back from FL. Quaint country store with some fantastic goods. Has a really nice outdoor space with seating and games. Also attached are barns with farm animals. The kids loved it and it was a nice break for the journey.

The steak was tender enough to cut w a butter knife. The spicy chicken quesodillas were tender yet crispy on the outside, full of gooey cheese and had the perfect amount of heat. Everyone here was pleasant, friendly, welcoming and eager to help. The animals were very well cared for, and the shopping selection exceeded my expectation. Clean, scenic, great for kids.
