Chilleen's On 17 - Black Canyon City

I always look forward to stopping for some great barbecue. I usually order the Black Canyon Chicken which is usually very tender because it is brined and it has a great flavor. I don't know what happened this last time but as soon as I saw the plate I knew it wasn't the same. The meat was tough and the skin was like leather. I would suggest if you have leftover chicken from the day before add soups to your menu.

Haley took great care of us on our 1st visit. The pork ribs were fall off the bone delicious. My torpedo burger was great, and huge, I have half for dinner later. Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were tender and tasty. The green chile fries were flavorful with just a little kick to them, not too spicy. We found our new spot for a great meal. Everyone loved the fries, regular and sweet potato. We will see you soon!

I hate to post this because the first time I ate here I absolutely loved it, food was soo good. Cute place with amazing drinks. Second time I ate here my husband got a burger that made him violently sick. I was willing to go back because it had been good in the past, but we came for our third and probably our final time last night. Again, drinks are always really good. Service was not great. Waitress was dismissive and kinda rude. Chips were undercooked. Honey mustard chicken sandwich came with no honey mustard and it was bland. I am not sure if there has been cuts in the budget but there was no cheese on the sandwiches either which was weird. Burnt buns. It’s sad because this place can be sooo good. It’s just fallen short one too many times.

This is a great place to stop on the way from Phoenix to Flagstaff. The pulled pork is delicious and so are the burnt ends. The desserts looked great and there are even adult desserts with booze. They looked tempting.
