Cafe de la Promenade - Bize-Minervois

Situated alongside the town square and river you are in the social centre of Bize. You can sit in or out, the only disadvantage being the fumes from passing vehicles. Service is quick and slick and the tapas are very good value, preceded by a pastis maybe as you watch the ever changing scene. Frequented by both locals and incomers it is closed on Wednesdays when the market comes to town.

Just spent a week in the Minervois region - beautiful area and friendly locals. We ate in here a couple of times during our stay. The main menu is quite brief but they also do a fantastic selection of homemade pizzas. The steaks were quite good too. Very reasonably priced food and drink. Nothing fancy but a really welcoming atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you are in the area (only open from 5pm off-season).

A great place to hang out - good wine, beer etc, and very friendly staff and atmosphere. Very good food for a bar, especially the pizzas!

We knew we wanted to eat at the Café de la Promenade as we knew the owner from another restaurant he had in the area that we had frequented. And we are very glad that we did! Not only did we have a very good meal but there was also a very good French Jazz duo entertaining. The place was crowded and we were very lucky to a get a seat without a reservation. They serve excellent pizzas and have a varied menu. The service was good despite the fact that the place was really busy. The cafe has a wonderful local vibe. This is my favorite type of place to eat in France. We will definitely be returning.
