Restaurant anno 1640 - Bernkastel-Kues

A great old location, with friendly service and excellent food. I had the pork pastries dish, super delicate meat and a fantastic sauce with it and also very delicious the supplements.

We had booked a 3-course menu at the restaurant anno 1640 via an arrangement in the fairytale hotel. first it was delicious and the portions were great. we had baked camembert on salat as an appetizer. the camembert was freshly picked and fried, so no finished TK goods. the salate was fresh, the sauce was ok. the main dish was tasty pork bags on specksöhnen, and this dish was, except the supplement, really fantastic. the meat collapsed already during breathing with the fork, the beans were cooked before site. Unfortunately, the roasted mustache was dry like rice wafers, I guess they were kept warm for a little too long. as dessert there was a huge bowling cream broth with ice and apples. It was really good. the service was very dedicated and friendly. before the menu was served, we were asked if the selection was so good. I suppose we could change something in a doubt. the edges of the plate were extinguished in the kitchen before serving, which left unsightly slings. but good. otherwise everything was clean. all in a restaurant with grounded German kitchen. the decor is a little wild, over every table hangs another lamp and there is a lot of kitsch (fit for the fairy-tale hotel.) I looked at the general menu and found the prices a bit high (e.g. around the 9 € for a soup) and am uncertain whether the price-performance ratio is here. I therefore do not want to make a recommendation at this point or reject it. we had a nice evening with good food.

The restaurant and the fairytale hotel are the madness! great service, super quality and very much love for detail. we will surely come back.

If you are hungry and want to eat simple and common food, then this place is simply OK. Flame cuche (a kind of pizza like), sausage, German style salty soup with beans and bacon, cola, some water. Nothing special. If you need a quick snack after a long walk through the beautiful city of Bernkastel, this place is simple and convenient. Centrally located!
