Sans-Souci - Belleville

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on our way back from Montréal. There was construction in downtown Belleville, so we decided to give this place a try since it was the first one we saw. We inquired about gluten-free options and were informed that all sandwiches could be made on gluten-free bread, and the soups and salads were gluten-free if we omitted the croutons. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on gluten-free bread, which was toasted whole grain and tasted delicious. The portion was so generous that I ended up with two sandwiches. My husband had a salmon salad on romaine with blueberries, which was also hearty and flavorful. Our son had a Caesar salad with chicken, and he couldn't finish it because it had so much chicken! The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Our meals came out quickly, and the prices were very reasonable at $20.88 for all three dishes. I highly recommend this place.

Great stop for a Lunch stop. Nice home made food with unique flavour. The burger could be the best in the area. Salad dressing is amazing. Again, home made!! Looking forward to the construction completion. Hoping the downtown will breath new life.

After enjoying two lunch visits, we decided to give Sans Souci a try for dinner and were unimpressed. The service was slow and disorganized, and the food left much to be desired. Though the pre-fixe menu seemed like a good deal at first glance, the main dishes were lacking in flavor and temperature, and the dessert was partially frozen. While the soup and salad were decent, it was disappointing compared to our previous positive lunch experiences. We don't plan on returning to this restaurant for dinner in the future.

We had ribs with home made sauce and a great chicken wrap. The ribs were among the best i have had, and that is saying a lot! The atmosphere is classy with a stylish fountain and modern decor. Beautiful original art on the walls. Lovely, clean washrooms. The chocolate cheesecake is outrageously good. Yum!

After hearing multiple recommendations for Sans Souci, we decided to have dinner there tonight and each opted for the $25 four course meal. The atmosphere was lovely with beautiful decor and art work throughout the cafe, creating an intimate feel. The food surpassed our expectations with incredible soups, delicious salads (garden and Caesar), perfectly cooked chicken and beef dishes, and the most amazing chocolate cheesecake and chocolate mousse cups for dessert. The quality of the food and service for the price was exceptional, and we have never experienced such flavor and freshness in Belleville or anywhere in Canada. The chef clearly takes pride in their work. Our server was excellent - helpful, polite, and attentive. We will definitely be returning, as many others have shared their fantastic experiences at Sans Souci as well. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
