Eckert's Country - Belleville

Nice, friendly, place. Food and country store great. Cider donuts!

It had been over a decade since my last visit to the Eckert's restaurant, and boy do I regret that! We got there pretty close to closing time (not egregiously so) on a Sunday but the food was still excellent and served with a smile! I loved the house salad and its dressing, and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our dumplings and pot pie entrees. Much better than the country store competition! I was disappointed that they no longer serve fried biscuits. I am giving them 2 stars for the dinner selection and quality of food. The appetizers we had were better than entree. We had pretzel bites and fried okra for appetizers. I had chicken fried steak for an entree. I would give them 5 stars for the excellent waiter that served our Christmas party gathering of 34. His name is Conner and he was friendly., efficient and excellent for being only 18 years old.

What a wonderful in its entirety from Restaurant to shop, activities and everything across the board. We will return.

Would have been a FIVE star review. The only negative was the LINER between the tray and the food. I get it, the liner is appropriate for the fried Chicken, fries, burgers and the like, but it is not appropriate for mashed potatoes, green beans and the country fried steak with gravy as it became saturated and it deteriorated.
