Bidra med feedbackThey enjoy my vegan wellington (dress, spinach and nuts) and kartoffels, delicious gravure with some steamed fresh vegetables on the plate. If they try to stay away from oil, this is not the meal, but it was not at all fat! they have a separate menu only for vegans with about 5 different choices. the personal was fantastic and atmosphere was great. they play classic rock tunes from all their favorite bands of 60’s 70 and 80’s.
As a vegan abroad, Darcy's is exactly the kind of experience you always hope for, but rarely find excellent local fare made vegan (or not) with plenty of options, served with warm hospitality. The meal we had here was the best of our trip vegan sausages over champ with brown gravy and a nut and mushroom wellington with sherry sauce. Both were superb. Our servers, a tag team of Clark Johnny, were welcoming and helpful, offering not just recommendations on the meal, but tips on things to see and do while in town, as well. On their advice, we finished with a vegan oreo fruit sauce sundae as well as an espresso Irish whiskey martini (leaving out the Bailey's to make it vegan) flawless. Highly recommended!
The food here was absolutely delightful! They have an all vegan menu with several great options. I had the mushroom and avocado toast starter, then the vegan sausages with champs, the the Oreo fruit and ice cream sundae. Amazing!!!
They say curiosity killed the cat but occasionally curiosity pays off. I had been to Darcy's a couple of times over the years and was never impressed by the poor vegetarian offers they were limited, boring and lacklustre to say the least. So when I heard on the Northern Ireland Vegetarian/ Vegan grapevine that Darcy's were now offering a new, dedicated, extensive, vegan menu I was curious to find out more. As it turns out, I was so impressed I've now dined there twice this week already! The new Vegan Menu is fantastic, consisting of filling, traditional, mouth-watering, comfort food at good prices. During my visits on Sunday 12/08/2018 and Tuesday 14/08/2018 the two waiters who served us were super-slick and able to advise fully on vegan dishes as well as wines/ beers. Sunday's dinner was a Mushroom Avocado Sourdough Starter drizzled with balsamic glaze and Mushroom Nut Wellington main served with olive oil mash, seasonal vegetables and sherry sauce. Tuesday's was Sweet Potato Cake Starter and Bean Burger with chips Main. All dishes were delicious but the stars of the show definitely being the Mushroom Avocado Sourdough and Wellington. Wine selection is good and cocktails delicious one of the waiters kindly made me an egg-free version of the Cocktail Special, a Pineapple Express. My only concern is that I hope this all lasts and these vegan dishes continue to be offered at the high standard they currently are. I would also like to see few vegan options on the £7.77 discounted Lunch Early Evening Menu. Nevertheless, D'Arcy's Belfast is definitely a restaurant which has redeemed itself and has seriously started catering to the ever growing vegan population.
Lovely friendly restaurant. Separate Vegan menu. Substantial portions for great price. Really surprised how tasty the meals were, even non vegan friends though the vegan meals rivalled the non vegan ones. Friendly and approachable staff.
