Pub Au Cochon Fume - Bécancour

This English-styled pub was recommended by a nearby hotel. My wife had some excellent fish& chips. I had a mediterranean pizza. Both meals were great. Good sized portions. Lots of beer choices too. Very friendly staff

We stayed at Manoir Becancourt and were looking forward to dinner in their restaurant and then learned that it is closed on Sunday. Not to worry Pub au Cochon Fume is run/owned by the same people/person, we were told, so we headed down the...road. There is a large outdoor patio but it was so hot when we were there we decided to sit inside, which is very nice and bright. The service was very friendly and helpful, particularly for us anglos, and the meal was delicious: house-smoked meat cheeses, house-made sauces and excellent quality fresh ingredients. If you're a fan of poutine, don't miss their house special with smoked cheese curds and a beer-based sauce/gravy with, of course, fresh-cut fries. And my husband said the ribs were the best he has ever had melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of smoky flavour, not covered with sticky sauce. Unfortunately, I can't tell you about dessert, as we were too full ;

The waitress was quick to give me a menu and take my drink order. She checked back with me regularly. Food had great portions and was tasty

We were traveling and needed lunch. We couldn't find anything that was appealing and then came upon this restaurant. It ws a local place and we stopped just after the usual lunch time. The waiter was great. Very pleasant and the food was delicious. Good...service and food was a delightful surprise. In the area, give it a try

This pub is well worth finding, They specialize in barbecue/smoked meat, but have other things as well. The staff are very welcoming and very friendly. The food was really excellent from soup to coffee and in between
