LaMondi - Bayreuth

The food was absolutly good, no problem. But the restaurant fint accept any payment cards. Terrible. Not willing to help with anything. This is 2023 and they fint accept cards.

Well prepared nigiri, fresh and varied fish. Well above average in a place like Bayreuth! Excellent salmon and unagi.

LaMondi was a great find. They serve a mix of Asian food Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese. The sushi was very fresh. The Thai food was authentic and flavorful. Even the Italian pasta dishes were done perfectly (ie al dente). Location across from train station and about five minutes walk from town. The decoration was upscale. Friendly service. Modest prices. Highly recommended.

(3,5/5). Normally I give a 3 rating to 3,5 point restaurants but this one gets me just over the hump. This is a sushi/Asian restaurant literally you need to read the menu from both ends to fully see the whole offering. Ambience is quite pleasant though we ended up in the back room. The restaurant was stuffed with locals and festival audience upon our visit. Service was clearly a local student, but smart, attentive and with a smile. Food was good overall: we had loads of sushi and some Asian fusion starters. The cook has a special interpretation of tempura, expect more general 'fried ' fare. Sushi had more rice than traditional, a sign of a junior chef, so you get stuffed rather quickly. Fish quality was quite good given the location Overall a welcome change from the standard Franconian food, which gets me over the hump...

Sitting outside looking at the train station is not the most quite location, but there is always something to see. Good food.
