Bidra med feedbackThe Captain's restaurant has been a popular dining establishment in Baybay City for many years. People frequent this restaurant to commemorate special occasions or when they have a large group of people to feed. They open at 8:00 in the morning, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner. They offer a variety of traditional Filipino dishes, soups, Asian meat and vegetable dishes. The portion sizes are generous, with the Lomi soup being a standout dish that can easily feed 3-4 people when paired with rice. The chicken nuggets and Bistek Tagalog are particularly tasty, along with the flavorful Chop Suey loaded with vegetables, squid, and pork in a mild sauce. A popular breakfast choice is the Captain's Fried Rice, packed with assorted meats, vegetables, mushrooms, and egg. The menu has remained largely unchanged over the years, with minimal items occasionally unavailable. The service is satisfactory and prices are reasonable. The restaurant offers indoor seating with air-conditioning, as well as an outdoor area for those looking to enjoy a bar night with food.
The food at this restaurant is consistently good, but the wait times are too long. During our last visit, we waited over an hour before receiving our order. Despite not being very hungry at the time, we decided to wait it out. The restaurant could use some updating, as most of the other establishments in the area appear run-down and unmaintained. It seems like they don't prioritize spending money on upkeep or cleaning.
The restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated. There was a Moroccan decoration vibe. Nice sitting area in the backyard. Food is nice.
Captain's Grill is conveniently located at the bus station, making it an ideal spot for travelers waiting for their journey. The food is excellent, especially the spicy pork ribs, fish fillet, and pancit. The prices are very affordable, with a full meal costing only P500.00 to P600.00 (enough for 3 people). The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place for a business meeting, as it is quiet during certain hours. However, the one downside is the rough toilets. There is no water in the toilets or washing area, which raises concerns about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Despite the delicious food, the state of the toilets leaves a lasting impression and makes me hesitant to return.
The Captain's has been a standard "higher end" dining feature of Baybay City for many years. People go there to celebrate special occasions, or if they have a large group of people to feed. They are open at 8 in the morning, so it's not an early breakfast joint, but mid-morning breakfast is possible. They're usually unable to make brewed coffee, though.Their lunch and dinner fare ranges from traditional Filipino foods, to soups, to Asian meat and veg dishes. Their lomi is good, and the serving size is a huge bowl, sufficient for 3-4 people (if eating rice). Their chicken nuggets are tasty, their Bistek Tagalog is good, as is their beef with onion. Their Chop Suey is quite nice, loaded with veg and slices of squid and pork in a mild sauce. our breakfast favorite is the Captain's Fried Rice, loaded with many different meats, bits of veg, mushrooms, and egg.Their menu hasn't changed in years, other than a few things being unavailable now and then. Service is fine, and prices are reasonable. They have an air conditioned indoor dining area. They also have an outdoor bar area, for those who like to have a bar night with food.
