Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant is charming and perfectly suited for the Jane Austen museum where it is located, but the portions are small for the price. We ordered 2 cream teas, but the tea didn't make enough for 2 cups per person and the scones were tiny considering the cost. Overall, it was disappointing.
The staff was friendly, and the sandwich was fresh and had a good variety. However, I felt that the staff should have paid more attention to people wandering around the dining area without any intention of sitting down, and guests swapping food is not a good practice.
Great setting for Jane Austin fans. Not super into the tea though. Great clotted cream and good scones. Cakes and sandwiches are just ok.
A busy little place, all geared up for afternoon tea. Waitstaff, in Regency dress, were very friendly and helpful. I'd made a mistake in our group's dietary requirements, and they bent over backwards to make sure we were accommodated. There was a little delay in being served the food, but that was down to me and my mistake, not the fault of the tea rooms at all. A nice afternoon tea with all the trimmings and a wide choice of teas. The crockery and china were cute, and the decor has a fantastic portrait of the Colin Firth Mr Darcy I was opposite him at the tea table.
The person who waited on us was very surly and seemed unbothered. An absolute lovely girl in a pink dress brought our tea and she was so charming with a lovely warm nature. We ordered the Dashwood afternoon tea and it was not very generous on the sandwiches and scones. We were not sure if could ask for more but apparently we could. We also went to the museum afterwards and really enjoyed it, Mr Wickham was fabulous. Very articulate and informative.
