Swiss Chalet Rotisserie Grill - Barrie

This location was in desperate need for a face lift, and it's quite lovely in their now. I have never had a bad experience at Swiss Chalet; their food is always consistent and delicious!

Live their food, great price and fresh food. The only downfall is that sometimes it feels like they want you to get out fast, it doesn't feel very homey.

Walk out the front door and either walk to one of the 7 other eateries 1 min away or drive to Bayfield location for great service. Hostess were arguing when we walked in and finally stormed us to a table - 20 mins later no one had even acknowledge we were sitting there, while 2 servers tidied up salt shakers on the tables around us. We got up and left. I did call and complain, as clearly they were not worried about losing business, and the Manager said "we reviewed the tape footage, and nothing happened". Really? So clearly the client is always wrong. Like I said, Swiss Chalet is Swiss Chalet, but service is everything. I drove 10 mins away and had world class service from Josie on Bayfield - she also got a 30% tip.

I ordered a shrimp and rice and 1/4 chicken, it was terrible. I have had this meal before and loved it, but the rice and shrimp was completely cold not even slightly warm, we waited for a long time for our meal, and it was very disappointing, when a waitress picked up my plate, not the waitress who took my order, she did not return to inquire about my food, I told her the rice and shrimp was to cold to eat, she went into the kitchen then returned, she said her manager asked if I preferred to replace the whole meal or just the cold food, which was the shrimp and rice, I had eaten some of the 1/4 chicken, the 1st waitress did not return and ask about my meal, and the chicken was hot so I picked at it, I honestly felt this was a nice touch and yes I would like to replace the whole meal, I ordered the meal together and the price of $15 included the whole meal, after waiting for a long time, my husband had actually finished his 1/4 chicken meal, my replacement meal arrived, just the shrimp and rice, I mentioned to the waitress that I was offered the whole meal, she did not respond, but did go back into the kitchen, and nothing, I ate about half of the rice and shrimp, it was ok, but honestly my whole meal was spoil, I did not enjoy it, I was not offered any sort of compensation, it was an expensive meal that was terrible, the rice and shrimp alone was bland, the whole idea is to enjoy the foods together, I am not one to cause a fuss, but I will not return to this restaurant and I do not recommend it to anyone.Expensive food, terrible service, and zero compensation for an inferior meal

We went here last week as a last minute dinner plan. Interior is much nicer since the renovation. Food was good but service wasn't the greatest. We got our food before our 3 year old daughter even though we asked for hers to be brought out as soon as it was ready. The waitress never refilled our beverages once. We had to track down a waitress to get a spoon for our daughters pasta as they only had large forks and knifes. WE've been here before and we will likely go back. Dinner was good value, service just wasnt great.
