Schnitzels and shawarmas - Barrie

This little hole in the wall, mom and pop type place is locally owned and operated. It serves some of the best Mediterranean cuisine that I've ever had. I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The portion sizes and prices cant be beat! Highly recommend the Po-ta-tas!!

Not a combo that you would think could be executed equally well. German pounded breaded meats or slow roasted meats and Mediterranean flavours. Well they can and do. Consistently. The place is small and feels fast foodish but it's not. Quality made fresh daily. Don't be in a rush here but you won't be disappointed I promise.On top of good portions the price is excellent. What the place lacks in sharp high end finishes it makes up for in quality and taste. And the service is always friendly.Don't know what to do for dinner tonight... hit this and try the daily specials too.Eaten here numerous times and I am so glad it exists here in Barrie.

I have had many choices and have never been disappointed. The schnitzel is my staple and it is delicious with many topping choices. For only an additional $3 you can get a drink and a side. The fries are always fresh cooked, home made potato salad is yummy. In the cooler months there are various soups and they are all made from scratch. Really enjoyed the avgolemono soup. Prices are more than fair and the service is top notch.

The pork saulvaki pita is excellent. The meat is very tender and not a lot of fat like some fast food Greek places. Have only had the pita but for someone who loves Greek pitas it has everything you'd want.

The food at Schnitzels and Shawarmas is sooooooo good. Every item on the menu has been well thought out and the concept is both ingenious as well as tantilizing. I can't believe how good the schnitzel is. I had it with the house recipe and every bite was a true pleasure. The soup du jour is amazing, the flavour is excellent. This restaurant is for sure a family favorite and I look forward to returning.
