The Duke Of York - Barnet

A large group of us went to this restaurant for lunch and we were all very happy with the food, which is rare when there are so many of us! The garden is lovely and there is a lot of choices on the menu. We would definitely come back again.

The service at this restaurant was terrible. I waited 20 minutes for my drink and when I asked the waitress if I should go to the bar to get it, she told me to just wait. We brought a cake for a colleague's birthday and asked the waitress to bring it out during our meal, but she never did. I had to go back again to get it, and she claimed she was waiting for us to tell her when to bring it out. The venue was lovely, but the service was awful.

Went for a drink and stayed for dinner! We visited on a Saturday around 4:30pm and sat outside on the patio. The patio is covered and had heaters and blankets which were very welcome. We liked the look of the menu so ordered food. We did have to wait almost an hour for the food to arrive. The food was really tasty, good size portions and the service staff were lovely. Would definitely go again. The menu changes everyday, the day we were there we found plenty of choice to suit our family. Wonderful atmosphere, clean, lovely finishing touches, friendly staff.

As a local resident, I have visited this restaurant twice within a few months. The food was delicious and of good quality, but there was a long wait for our main meals on both visits - over an hour each time. The second visit was for a friend's birthday celebration. The staff were very attentive and apologetic, explaining that there was only one chef working in the kitchen. I will not be returning until they hire a second chef.

Always enjoyed this pub even back in the early 80 's when I was a child. Fantastic service and quality of food. Reliable and good range of cask ale including my favourite, the house bitter B P
