Lonja De Tapas Jaume 1 - Barcelona

We were so pleased with this restaurant! The food was the tastiest AND most reasonably priced we found in Barcelona. The small plates were delicious, and the wine flowed. The sea salt chocolate cake was the perfect finish. Just inside the Gothic Quarter.

NO PLEASURE. ONE POINT BUT ZERO IS MORE HONEST! TASTELESS food, very QUESTIONABLE HYGIENE ! very UNPLEASANT staff. FROZEN FOOD! no cooking. 30€ for 80 grams of squid, 10 squares of cheese (50 grams) and 5 slices of tomato bread. What a SHAME ! The waiter spends his time opening the automatic door creating a very UNPLEASANT draft of cold air in February! The mojito is bathed in an ACID LEMON SYRUPS , WORST MOJITO ever drunk! don't WASTE your TIME or MONEY here! This restaurant should be CLOSED!

My friends and I were away on a girlie trip in Barcelona. We know that most Spanish people do not go out to eat until later in the evening and take their time to enjoy the food and company. We attempted to do the same. When we arrived at the restaurant approx 8.30pm, it was busy and lively. The food was lovely as was the atmosphere. As time went on, the restaurant emptied until we were only 1 of 2 groups in their. We felt that the staff wanted to close and started clattering plates, etc, around us. The atmosphere automatically changed and we felt rushed. I checked online to see that it was not supposed to close until later. When asking a question we also felt that the staff had attitude. By this point we felt what was a nice meal was turning sour so we left. We knew it was not THAT late as all the restaurants around were still serving food and people were casually enjoying their evening. Such a shame that the attitude spoilt what would have been a very enjoyable meal.

Great food nice atmosphere amirt was brilliant on service. Less than £50 for a meal for 2 with drinks in central Barcelona. Definitely coming back :D

This place was next to our hotel, it was empty when we looked in but wasn’t put off and soon filled up, we just had tapas dishes which were delicious, the bread was amazing and we ordered more! Staff are very friendly and attentive, very well presented. The wine was decent and worth it’s price. Whole menu reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit. Atmosphere is lovely and place is warm.
