Govinda's - Bangkok

I have eaten govindas hare Krishna spots in brisbane, barcelona and swansea. that's not that much more like eating in someone's house. a nice lady leads the place, she asked me if I wanted a veg thiali and I said yes. it was good, 120 baht, I took the photo there. very religious lady, friendly, speaks English better than thai. an Indian friend of her fell from the one who did not speak English well, but lived her whole life in Thailand so that we talked Thai. they spoke to each other (or punjabi). a strange, but pleasant, 3 speech talk followed. I think they can ask them what they can cook, I think they can cook many different things. as they can see from the other reviewer, she can boil brooding from which I asked her. it was not a problem for them. good place for an Indian food and talk for the foreigner who can simply not find Thai to speak English with lol.

It was just before 7 and there was dancing and singing, creating a lively atmosphere. We could also hear the sounds of ice cream being enjoyed by other patrons. The food was delicious and reminded me of meals I had in India. We decided not to order from the menu as we were unsure of all the options, and wanted to avoid any unexpected dairy products. Instead, we ordered mixed vegetables, Dal, and rice. Everything was made from scratch, even down to peeling the potatoes. It ended up being pricier than we had anticipated, but the overall experience was well worth it.

The kind lady who runs the place recommended the Veg Thali to me and I enjoyed it for 120 Baht. She is very religious, friendly, and speaks English fluently. Her Indian friend, who is not as fluent in English but has lived in Thailand for a while, joined our conversation in Thai. We ended up having a pleasant three-language conversation in Hindi (or Punjabi) as well. I believe you can ask her for a variety of dishes to cook, as she also prepared Borscht for another customer. This is a great spot for Indian food and conversation, especially for foreigners struggling to find Thai-speaking locals to converse with.
