The Grotto - BANDERA

Note I don't leave 5 start reviews unless everything was perfect. My wife and I visited the cracked mug while in Bandera over the weekend. We were in to Crew for the Hoka Bandera Ultra Marathon. We visited on the morning of the race. I got the breakfast tacos and an Americano. My wife got oatmeal and a drip coffee. The Americano was par for the course, and my wife said the drip coffee was good. My breakfast tacos were good, but my wife said her oatmeal tasted like it was instant oats with cranberries and pepitas to jazz it up. Pros: Kind and courteous staff! Dog Friendly (great for people traveling with pups Coffee better than any fast food stop (starbucks, mcdonalds, dunking, etc. Cons: Indoor seating was clustered, and there wasn't good sound absorption so it was very loud inside. Oats were not very good Overall it was a decent experience, but nothing to write home about.

This one of my favorite restaurants in Bandera, fresh made to order breakfast and lunch. Relaxing atmosphere and great service.

I’ll never go back to OST and their awful biscuits and cold food! This place is quiet, quaint, homey, and delightful! AND the food is cooked to order! Staff was friendly and accommodating! My breakfast was fresh and hot. Eggs over easy, just right, nice thick Applewood bacon, home fries, and Texas toast that was grilled and buttery! And the coffee! Not your supermarket coffee! Or you can order up an espresso drink of your choice. They even had sugar free hazelnut!! Yep this place is a winner!!

This Wonderful breakfast joints is one of Banderas hidden gems. It sits on the corner of 173 as you come in to Bandera , without the flashing lights you wouldn't know the ambiance and surroundings are comfortable, the food appetizing with great taste, the customer service was so on point from the minute you walked in the door.

The first time we went my over easy eggs were a little underdone for me. Since then, I ask for them over med and they are perfect. Whatever seasoning they use on the eggs is so good. The waffles have been so dang good each time. So good I haven't tried anything else yet and we've gone 4 times so far. The Texan Turtle coffee iced is good also. Definitely a good breakfast spot.
