Bidra med feedbackConvenient location behind the Shell servo just off the Western Highway near Ballarat. Dated building inside and out. Can eat in or take away. No-one else there when we bought take away cappuccino which was ok. Had to ask for sugar and the place is generally not user friendly.
Terrible coffee, very bitter!!. No one else was eating there. A very tired facility, in need of a refurb.
Okay this is the last time l visit a cafe without customers. There were only 4 pies left so l chose the one that did not look burnt. The pie was very nice but looking around and eating off plastic plates with dirty cutlery l looked around. The Diner was unhygienic with clumps of mud on the floors, sticky tables, very dirty. The 3 staff l saw had dirty clothing and the very young boy that served us had a t shirt on that was very dirty stains all over it. The 1/2 hour we were there we were the only diners. There were clothes for sale, cards jewelry very strange mix. It could be a fantastic place i can envisage bus load of people in this place ! They just need a visit from Gordon Ramsay
On the way back to Melbourne from a business meeting this place caught my eye just off the highway. It's has a classic diner feel where to sit and eat with so much more. There artworks and also other local things on display and for sale. I would definitely recommend the pies (which were made on site). The one I had was so meaty and I mean I could see the chunks of meat (not just a gravy mincy one). Only complaint I have really is that the hot chocolate I got really was mainly froth and not much drink
This restaurant, named 'Diner,' is located in an old and rundown Shell station. The grilled fish and chips that we ordered were disappointing. The fish seemed to have been defrosted in the microwave and was just grilled quickly to give the appearance of being fresh. It was unpleasantly wet and soggy. The chips were decent, but overall, we were not satisfied with our meal and do not plan on returning.
