Bidra med feedbackWe tried about 5 restaurants in the area, and this had the rude staff and attitude. There are two shady looking employees who do not welcome when you board. There was a problem with our food and they could not take responsibility for their mistakes. It's always someone else's fault type of attitude.
The sun is shining, the beautiful bells of St. Peter 's next door are ringing just a gorgeous scene when we ate here. I knocked off one star, because even though the food is really good, it 's not as good as other restaurants in these small Rhineland Palatinate towns. The sauces are where it wasn 't the equal to other restaurants. That being said, the food is really good. Stay away from the Bolognese Schnitzel, sauce not very good. Likewise, do not get pizza here, basically a cracker with tons of onion. On the other hand the dish called Haxenpfanne pig knuckle for 12,90 € oh my word!! Get this delicious dinner, the kraut the this tender juicy meat was to die for. All the other schnitzel dishes were great. All entrees were between 9€ and 15€ desserts were 9 €, add the dreaded 19% tax on all restaurant eating and this bill went pretty high. I would definitely go back though, so it was worth it. Service was kind and efficient.
Stopped off in Bacharach for a wander and a lunch break. The town atypical old German. There were numerous eateries to choose from most of which offered full meals. Only wanting a snack coffee and a cake this place fitted the bill. The cake and the Goulash , not together, were very good. Service was fine but I felt the price of a small bottle of Cola was pricey
Right next to the cathedral decent food and decent prices I had the Schinderhannes Plate which was roast pork and sides. Very good for 10 Euro.
The service left quite a bit to be desired. We did not feel welcomed at all due to the snobbish server who apparently didn't expect tourists ? to visit. My husband and I were well dressed and friendly so there was no reason for this man to look down his noses at us. Sad because this was the ONLY experience we had in all of our three days in Bacharach that was less than savory. The chocolate cake was good though, there was that...
