We popped in hoping for some lunch but alas were too late for lunch and too early for dinner, the pleasant barmaid suggested a selection of nuts and or crisps so we opted for both, caramel pecans, dry roasted and normal salted nuts, decanted into a nice large mug sized pot, with two pkts crisps and two pints bitter shandy. The place was warm and welcoming, a log fire in a lovely fire place, very comfy chairs to relax in and a real friendly air to the place. Lovely clean toilets and the dining area looked large and spacious. Perfect spot if your living in or visiting Bilderston.. An update from today. 17th july. Actually had lunch in the crown, what can i say, service, superb, food excellent, yes, it maybe more to pay than a green king gastro pub, but if you want to pay green king prices, go to a green king pub but youll miss out on great tastes and great service. The plate presentation was lovely, the items on the plate went so well together taste and texture wise. Will certainly be going back there for more scrummy food.
