Our group of eight friends recently spent a week in Avignon exploring the excellent wine and cuisine of the region. One of the highlights of our visit was the day we spent with Chef Jean Marc Larrue, the charismatic philosopher-chef, as he led us through the experience of fine food from the perspective of the chef as well as from our typical experience as partakers of cuisine. From meeting at the marketplace where vendors of all sorts display their sumptuous goods to purchasing and bringing the ingredients of our meal to his beautiful and unique restaurant "Le Jardin de la Tour" to cooking together and subsequently dining and celebrating our accomplishment, it was a marvelous experience that heightened my appreciation for the love and mastery that goes on behind the scene of the dining room. I highly recommend this delightful and insightful culinary experience to all lovers of fine food!
An outstanding lunch experience, exceptional dinning occasion. Food was beyond spectacular. Exceeded our expectation. Shared Chef Jean Marc's passion for Kentucky Bourbon, with an end of meal drink. Chef presented a marvellous dinning extravaganza. Can't say enough about how memorable Le Jardin de la Tour added to our trip to Avignon.
Ate lunch at Le Jardin during our stay in Avignon. Ordered the plate of the day and enjoyed the meal. A glass of wine included with the plate. Restaurant filled with cast of Medieval show who were all in costume. Made for an interesting time.
I enjoyed a banquet dinner here with about 40 colleagues, and the evening was excellent all around. The restaurant is in an old factory building, and contains various pieces of equipment left from that era that add charm. The proprietor is very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the staff catered to the dietary restrictions in the group very well.
