Bidra med feedbackI'm not the type to drop 50 dollars per person on a meal, but this restaurant serves incredible food. Bourbon steak should be proud of their establishment, and the meals they serve. In the past 2 months I've been to a few different high end Miami restaurants (scarpetta, Chef Allens). Both of them were garbage in comparison. (My ravioli at Chef Allen’s came with a french fry on top). I've been to Bourbon Steak 3 times and I can't say I've ever eaten at a better steakhouse. I wouldn't have appreciated fine dining if I hadn't been to this place.
Bourbon Steak is very overpriced for the amount of food that is served. The quality of the food is good but does not warrant the prices charged. I would not return to this resturant.
At the end of August my husband and I decided to try Bourbon Steak on a Sunday night, for the barbeque. We had read a couple of reviews and it sounded good, especially for only $49/per person. We arrived a few minutes before 6:00 and had to wait to be seated because they were still setting up. There were 3 choices of entrée and my husband chose the salmon and I chose the New York strip steak. My steak was disappointing to say the least. It was less than 1/2 thick, had no flavor, a lot of fat, and was in fact a ribeye steak instead of a New York Strip. We had been expecting the steak to be first rate. My husband 's salmon was ok, but not fantastic. There was very little on the salad bar that either of us really wanted. We expected shrimp or crab on the salad bar, but the only seafood there was some very small oysters on the half shell and some heirloom tomatoes. Not much to fill up on. We had read rave reviews on the duck fries, but they weren 't offered that evening. So our server requested duck fries for us and added a small surcharge to our tab. They were not really hot when we got them, but the fries and the dipping sauces were pretty good. We did not get the dessert, which was a root beer float. Unfortunately, our experience that night was unsatisfactory and we would probably not return to Bourbon Steak.
Biggest problem is extremely poor acoustics. Decor is interesting but it's at the cost of having enjoyable dinner conversation. Additionally, a kitchen door was continually slammed closed throughout the evening. The wine list is extensive but way over the top for the food served and overall dining experience. I ordered my Angus filet rare, and it was served close to medium rare. I wasn't impressed with the flavor and the texture was chewy. I made the reservations on OpenTable and mentioned we were celebrating a special occasion. After dessert was ordered a celebratory dessert was placed in the center of the table. Having not ordered the dessert I was surprised to see it on our check which I had to ask to receive after waiting 20 minutes after the table was cleared. Overall I was disappointed.
I have eaten there 3 times and every time it has been excellent food and service. The steaks are excellent and I sampled the excellent deserts also. I have sent 3 other couples and they reported that was the best Steak House in Miami by far. I really enjoyed the bone in Rib Eye steak.
