Bidra med feedbackI think that in order to understand and appreciate the visit, we have to make a connection to everything that is to be seen in Auvers-sur-Oise and to be sensitive to the history of art. You have to take the time to read the panels, make the journey, go to collect on the tombs of Vincent and Theodore. I first had a mixed opinion about the place, because when we see things in its globality, we say that 7€ to see a piece and a small film, it is expensive (in comparison to other sites. And then I read the comments, I took into account the work of the guides who must sometimes manage the reception and visits at the same time, who face disrespectful or simply unpleasant visitors... and the fact that it is a village that has the will to converse the heritage left by a great painter. In addition, we are warned: “Nothing to see, but everything to feel”. Unfortunately, many of us are too accustomed to busy tourist sites. We forget the value and meaning of the empty parts. If the cost of the ticket allows employees to live, I do not regret at all. The visit allowed me to do the part between the myths around Van Gogh and the reality, I who thought his room a little bigger, I was surprised and touched. For the shop, I was a little sad not to find any magnets of his paintings, but since it's the end of the season I totally understand! There's enough to buy to keep your hands empty. I wish you could get a painting by Van Gogh in order to realize his last will, as well as a good continuation. Courage to guides and thanks to them for their work that is not always easy (I know something!
A beautiful place! I loved that atmosphere. We feel like we're back to Vincent Van Gogh. A visit to the master's paintings fans.
