Very quick and friendly service for a hotel Starbucks

As was commented by several other reviewers, the service was really slow. I stood in line for about 20 minutes on a Sunday morning. Two of the three people working seem to be moving in slow motion. I'll admit that once I put my order in my drink came out quickly. But it was a simple order. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have stood in the line, but it's the only place I know to get a coffee in the hotel before I go back up to my room and pack up. And if this was a mom and pop shop or an independent I might not complain but come on this is Starbucks a multi-billion dollar corporation. Surely they can do better than this.

I’ve never waited for 30 minutes in a Starbucks. Will try the lobby bar next time I’m in a rush.

We live not far from Austin, and decided to have a staycation before our kids go back to school, so stayed at the JW first week of August 2022 and had a great experience. We booked adjoining rooms with our pre teen/teen daughters, and ended up with a corner room/suite plus the room across the hall, which is in a somewhat private area at the end of the hallway, and it was PERFECT. Rooms: The views from the hotel rooms are spectacular. Our daughters had pool/city view, and we had Lake Austin/city view. You really can't beat it! And so many great restaurants and shops and attractions that are walkable. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, plenty of bathroom storage space and closet space (I am an unpacker so this is important to me . Good lighting in the bathroom thanks to extra mirror fixtures so the teenage daughters don't gripe about how bad they look (also important to me LOL , beds are comfy, good pillows. Our suite had a couch and chair which was nice for movie watching with the girls. Both rooms had a one cup coffee maker with plenty of coffee/fixings, and our suite had a small refrigerator. Pool: Rooftop of 5th floor, plenty of chairs, cool interior cabanas by reservation, bar (get the pina colada!!!! , amazing views. Great place to swim laps or hang out. Room Service: We only ordered once for emergency desserts, it was quick and yummy. We got one of each of the ice cream flavors (all really good and well packaged for delivery , and they ordered something else, maybe a brownie, they said was very good. House Keeping: Very good. Dean's Italian Steakhouse: Had dinner there our last night, and it was a great experience. Our waiter helped us customize as necessary, my husband had a bone in something or other (says the vegetarian and said it was delicious, daughter had a truffle pasta that was really good and I envied (but she shared , other daughter had a customized spaghetti and meat sauce (thank you to our server and chef for flexibility and I ordered sides had the twice baked potato...YUM!...with the mushrooms...YUM! Also we had the buffalo tomato caprese type salad, a wedge salad, and the Italian salad minus the meats and they were REALLY good, all 3 of them, highly recommend. We will go back to this restaurant even if not staying there. In general at the hotel, the service was extremely friendly, everyone smiles at you, speaks to you. Things are quick (front desk, bellman, valet and overall just a really good experience. I highly recommend.

JW Marriott Austin is a beautiful hotel with stunning views of the city and excellent customer service. One of the hotel representatives, Anas, was so thoughtful to send chocolate dipped strawberries with a beautiful handwritten birthday card to our daughter after finding out that it was her special day. He really went beyond and beyond to make sure that our stay was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel!
