Bidra med feedbackFirst time to visit Mandola 's Italian Kitchen off of William Cannon. Met a friend there for dinner after work on a Friday. First, when you get there, you notice the restarant is charming...lots of people sitting at their tables talking with their family and friends...also, you get a nostalgic feeling of an old an old world setting with refrigerated cases showcasing meats, beverages and desserts. The servers were all very busy of course. You walk up to a counter where each person individually orders their food and beverages of choice. The young man who took our order was very helpful. I was able to switch out regular spaghetti for angel hair pasta for my entree. We paid for our orders, took a designated table number and walked to one of the rooms in the back and was able to get a table right away. This is a family restaurant, crowded with families...and untethered kids who were literally screaming and throwing tantrums. It didn 't take long for our food and beverages to arrive at our table. The spaghetti, spaghetti sauce and meatballs were very good and flavorful but barely warm... The Italian sausage I ordered with my pasta dish unfortunately was also barely warm and lacked flavor. I had ordered a small side salad with house dressing. It tasted fresh, and the salad dressing was good, but I would suggest getting the dressing on the side. As I mentioned above, conversation was not easy during our meal. What was strikingly apparent was the loud noise the waiters were making with THROWING ceramic dishes into dish pans when busting the tables. When they saw us jump from the sudden crashing noises they just smiled and offered a barely audible apology. All in all, I give Mandola 's Italian Kitchen a 3 out of 5. There were some aspects of the food and service that I really liked and some that weren 't quite so good. I just caught them at one of their busiest times. I plan to come back at a time when the restaurant isn 't quite so busy if that 's possible. I love Italian food...I want to enjoy what they have to offer in off-peak times because I truly believe they will do a better job. Thank you for reading my review!
Was looking for a place with tasty sides, and this was the place. Came back for a second visit and wanted to try their woodfired pizza. That was also a good menu item. It's not a fancy place but a place to get a decent price for a reasonable price.
The best out of can over cooked bolognese I've had in my life.Don't get the gnocchi bolognese
Me and my family did not like it the food was flavorless did not have good tasted at all we are never coming here again
Some of the most delicious Italian food in Austin, and this location is very conveniently located in the southwest area.I highly recommending ordering lunch here. I usually get a panini and soup, and I absolutely love that they include their homemade bread, oil, and spices for dipping at home. One time they did forget something in my takeout order, but I called them and they offered a free cake which was very nice!
