Bidra med feedbackSo, I was in Auroville during my trip to Pondicherry a couple of years ago ; was exploring for some balmy outdoor places to have our morning breakfast. Towards Mantrimandir, we came across this elegant and intimate place called Bread Chocolate. It is an excellent sit-down space to have a substantial and wholesome breakfast. Although, I would suggest you to go bit early as they run out many items since they prefer to serve only fresh products to their customers. It is mostly visited by foreigners. <br/ <br/ They serve one of the best Croissants you may have across India and I am not exaggerating at all, they really are. They have too many Vegan options as well. They are quite famous for their Breakfast bowls (Acai, Chia), Sourdough sandwiches, Apple Tart with puff pastry base and the best of all Cold chocolate. I ordered a lactose free option, since they did not have any lactose free milk, they served me this drink with Coconut milk. It was really different for me, since I never had any Chocolate drink with Coconut milk, but I really fell in love with it ! All the delicacies they serve are super fresh and made with local ingredients. The staff is very courteous and polite. <br/ <br/ So next time when you visit Auroville, this place should definitely be there on your itenery !
The Place is Bustling with people and Bread and Chocolate has a large offering list.<br/ <br/ We reached around noon so it was a bit hard to grab a table and we could manage it only after some time.<br/ <br/ The queue to order was ever increasing. All this was paid off well when we sipped our coffee and ate our Ice cream.<br/ <br/ We had a chill out chocolate and an ice cold coffee. To eat we ordered a chocolate tart and a chocolate mint ice cream.<br/ <br/ Everything was superbly nice. A must visit place.
Bread and Chocolate is THE BEST PLACE I've eaten at,in Pondicherry. The food is sooo delicious and authentic, it's hard to not fall in love. Their baked goods are to die for, service is super quick and the menu is vast enough for everyone to get something of their liking. They serve everything from sandwiches to smoothie bowls to croissants and more! Coming to the food, we had-<br/ <br/ • The Apple Tart- the.best.tart.i've.ever.had. The apples were absolutely delicious, beautifully caramelised and the tart shell ohh miii! It was perfect! It was crisp, not even a tad bit soggy and you could really appreciate the different layers of the filo. It was coated with some sugar too to add a bit of sweet crunch<br/ MUST HAVE<br/ <br/ •Mushroom and egg quiche- I'm a huge fan of quiches and this one was by far the best I've ever had! The quiche was again, masterfully made with distinct layers of filo, super crunchy. The mushrooms were deliciously earth, the eggs were sooooo beautifully cooked , they were luscious and creamy and almost added on to the flavours of the the cheese. Every ingredient was celebrated and heroed in its own special way. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED<br/ <br/ I absolutely loved eating here, this is one place you definitely can't miss!
Quite a nice place with good flavoursome food. It gets a little crowded too soon so reserving seats for a large group is a task. Preparation takes quite a while and they do go out of stock quite often- something that should be looked into. If you have a taste bud for European cuisine, this is the place though. I also liked the fact that the facility is primarily run by females. More power to them.
There's no better place than BNC for food. Everything on their menu is worth a trial a hundred times. I've tried the breakfast board, saigon sandwich, cheese please sandwich, summertime tartine, chocolate tart, all the croissants, fig+banana smoothie, chill out chocolate smoothie in addition to their breakfast sandwiches, cookies and bonbons. I'm a fan of everything and I cannot point out a single fault in their services or their food. I also love the fact that it's a place run in majority by local women as staff. Cheers to chef mark and his unbelievable skills.
