Tusk Thai Restaurant Bar - Auckland

The food and atmosphere were great. The portion sizes are reasonable. It would be even better if rice were included with the stir-fry and curry dishes, as they really can't be enjoyed on their own.

Two of us had dinner at the restaurant without a reservation. For our appetizers, we ordered the duck and pork dumplings as well as the Tom Yum soup. Both dishes were beautifully presented and deliciously flavorful. For our main courses, we tried the Pad Thai and Massaman Curry. The presentation was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the taste was delightful. Tusk is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good value Thai meal. We will definitely return!

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, although there was a mix-up regarding our reservation time. The lady informed us that our booking was at 5:30 instead of the 6:00 PM we had confirmed over the phone. They really need to improve their communication about reservations. We ordered the chicken pad thai, sizzling beef, and a mojito. Unfortunately, they informed us that they were unable to serve any cocktails, but that was fine. The food arrived within 10-15 minutes and was served hot! Kudos for the quick service, even with a few tables occupied. The sizzling beef was bursting with flavor, and we appreciated the generous portion. The pad thai was okay, but it wasn't quite to my liking. The servers were attentive, frequently checking to see if we needed anything. When it was time to pay, the gentleman at the counter was enthusiastic and took the time to explain our bill before processing the payment. The service is excellent. The wait staff are quick, attentive and friendly. The dining atmosphere is much quieter in comparison to other restaurants in this area. It's perfect if you wNt something more intimate. The lighting is a bit dim, so at time it was difficult to see the food.<br/ <br/ The food is your usual Thai food. The Green curry was delicious and a good sized portion. The chicken larb was satisfactory, I felt like it needed a bit more toasted rice to give that signature larb flavour. The satay skewers were tender and tasty. The sticky rice was cooked to perfection.

Great Thai restaurant. Service is second to none and most of the food is tasty. <br/ <br/ They do my favourite curry puff in Auckland and the flaming chicken is awesome.
