Bidra med feedbackAmerican Cut was my favorite restaurant for years. Last night was our first time going since the Covid shutdown. We won’t be back. It was my husband and I’s Valentine’s dinner, in which we were dressed to the nines for. First of all, we had a 6:00 reservation, and got there at 5:20 ish to have a drink before dinner. The gentleman in a suit who I am assuming was a manager offered us a table early. We were obviously there for a nice dinner as I was in a nice dress with heels and my husband in a suit. He seated us downstairs, which is more like a bar instead of fine dining. We made it clear we could sit at the bar and have a pre dinner drink to wait on a table. Who goes to a nice restaurant for a date and wants to sit in front of tvs, with people sitting at the bar with blue jeans on? Definitely not date worthy, with no ambiance at all. We want Mitt back (the old manager)! However, our server was wonderful. Secondly, the menu and food is horrible. There’s obviously a new chef. We used to love the wagyu, which they understandably didn’t have. We ordered our usual Caesar salad which was awful, and bland. Bring back the old Caesar salad! I ordered the New York strip and my husband got the pastrami crusted rib eye and Brussel sprouts. My steak was bland but edible. My husbands was the worst piece of overcooked meat we’ve both ever had. Who came up with the recipe? It’s horrible! I seriously wouldn’t feed it to a dog. The Brussels were incredibly chewy. At this point, we were done and won’t be back. We both barely touched anything on our plates. Save your time and money and go somewhere else as this is not fine dining. They need new management, a menu revamp and new chef. They definitely won’t last long in Buckhead.
Great Food, Great Service, Terrible Parking Everything was wonderful, including the best Fried Green Tomatoes we've ever had. The service was lovely, steaks were perfect, Parking was a real stinker. American Cut used to have valet service right outside the door. Now one must park in an inconvenient garage, and then if picking up a handicapped person after dinner, one must come back to restaurant, then go back through the maze like garage again to get back to the street. Stinker. We very much want to return to American Cut after the parking/valet service is worked out.
It was just not the night to go. The restaurant closes next week, much to our surprise, but the overall experience was so reflected. I wish we had decided. I'm sorry this works there.
American Cut, Atlanta seems to complete the operations to close soon. This is regrettable as it is a worthy addition to our knight of high quality room. A challenge for a steakhouse here in Buckhead is the proximity of two old classics nearby, chops and bons. Obviously, American Cut has too many words in his name. Notwithstanding the 8oz file is the first class. Brussel sprouts with inserted veils is creative and good. The Caesar salad is chopped at the table and looks better than it tastes. Wine and cocktail lists were useful, but not as diverse as competitors. Chocolate cheesecake was excellent. Surprising is a rooftop bar and private rooms at the top of the restaurant. These are world class, something you would find in Berlin, London or Amsterdam.
My husband and I both got the ribeye steak. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The everything biscuits are so good. We also got the cream corn and pimento mac&cheese. My husband didn’t like the mac&cheese. Our server, Sam was awesome.
