Shane's Rib Shack - Athens

Shane's BBQ Band Shack is the kind of place where I would never have walked if it wasn't for the free sandwich coupon they sent me for my birthday. Boy, I'm glad I tried! I can't comment on other foods that the restaurant offers, but here's a low below for my first visit: First, the menu is extensive. As BBQ place, of course it has the BBQ chicken, BBQ pig and BBQ ribs. But for people who are not so crazy about BBQ, they also have some great choices: chicken pliers, cheeseburgers, salads, wings, etc. I never knew if I didn't go in. Also, unlike most places, the BBQ sauce comes on the side, so for people who do not like a strong BBQ flavor, they can take the amount of BBQ sauce, but they like. I tried her big daddy pork sandwich, which seems to be her speciality (based on what the menu said). I ordered to go and I liked how my sandwich was first packed in wax paper, then placed in a polyfoam container, then brown bagged minimizes the chance to make a mess in the car. I'm a pretty saucy person (I usually use my food in the sauce), but the amount of sauce she gave me was a lot, I couldn't use half of it. The pork sandwich had the great taste of being cooked all day. In addition to the BBQ sauce, they also have many other sauces for chickens and wings. I assume you can order these sauces on the page whether you get the chicken or not. There are hot, medium, mild, lemon pepper, teriyaki, etc. The service was very friendly, they had no problem taking my voucher, and based on how my sandwich looked on the picture, it didn't look like I had come down. You even told me birthday! The place was self-service on drinks, which meant no drinking (there was no tip line on the credit card entrance) another point of me. They carry a number of coke products, including both Coke Zero AND Diet Coke for me great, as I prefer Coke Zero, which is hard to find in restaurants.
