Bidra med feedbackVery disappointed by our delivery order tonight. We ordered the Hibachi Steak and shrimp and the Udon noodles with chicken. There was a tiny amount of steak, and then I had to go through the noodles to even find the chicken. I took the whole chicken and weighed it because it was so ridiculous. It was 1.9 ounces of chicken, which was also completely boiled and not salted or seasoned. I bit two chickens and I tipped the rest. I've been eating at the restaurant since 2008. This was my first time order delivery, and it certainly does not make me want to eat there again.
No doubt, a very popular restaurant in Asheville. As a food supplier, I usually have no long waiting problems here. The other night was HORRIBLE! I was told the customer's order is still cooking and would be just a few minutes. Okay, I think 5 minutes. 15 minutes later the food was not ready!! I was updated again, it would be just a few minutes! Really? Restaurant owner! Let yourself be professional and much more accurate on time! As a delivery person, the time is critical for us and we need you much more thoughtful and accurate time! After 20 minutes waiting for this order, I was simply expired and the delivery order dropped. I had a barely warm pizza in my pizzeria bag for which I had to deliver and apologized.
At some point, the worst $60 ever spent in food. There was another tip, though we should have zero. Everything that could go wrong was wrong.... Sa from Hostess and waited about 10 minutes before greeting/offering drinks. Maybe because they wait like 8 tables. Order a soda, appetizer and food at once, because we knew it would be a bad thing that judged by the waiting period to be welcomed. Appetizer calamari was first out and was a laughable portion size. Had a picture taken and published it here because this Calamari was embarrassing. Then a flat soda finally made it after 15 minutes in and after the appetizer came out. Food was pair of special rolls and a box dinner. Nothing was bad or good, it was just okay. There was even a short hair in food, but I just took it out and flicked it on the ground when I'm not looking for a free meal, I just want good food when I pay to eat and not a conflict with an already bad situation. Never heard of the waitress, except to fall off the appetizers, a flat soda that never asked about a refill, the dinner and then the check after we finished with dinner for another 10 minutes. If you cannot take care of your customers, do not put them until your waiting staff is properly trained to take care of these many people or be caught. And get rid of the table of garbage when you look into that as if the owner's children's art and crafts / homework, if it slow and they can't get a babysitter.
This small place will surprise you with its light and tasty sushi. We are delighted that the good reviews we have read were true. The service is good and it is a friendly small place. We often go there.
Zen is my favorite spot to get sushi in Asheville. I love the location and the easy parking. Staff are friendly and quick. I can be in and out during lunch within 30 minutes. The sushi is incredible. I've had everything from the basic rolls and several of the speciality rolls. Have loved everything. Have went through many of the appetizers and a few of the menu items. Would definitely recommend.
