Bidra med feedbackOur Geocaching adventure led us to this historic building, now transformed into a teahouse. This manor has had many uses throughout its history. Originally a private residence, it later functioned as a roadhouse for weary travelers. At one point, the cellar even served as a prison. It was also used as a shop, a bomb shelter during the war, and a weather station, post office, and petrol station. Over the years, it housed a sawmill and a flour mill. Today, the restored Manor serves as a museum, art gallery, and gift shop. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to tour the interior of this fascinating historic site during our visit.
We stopped at this restaurant for lunch with a group of 36 people. The staff had our meals ready quickly and provided efficient and friendly service. The chicken pancake was delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the surrounding grounds are also lovely. There is a small museum next door that some may find cheesy. Overall, enjoy your visit.
I stopped in the gift/antique shop and explored the area. There was a lot to see. I never knew they also served food. I decided to visit the teahouse and tried the Prime Rib Burger, which was delicious. The owners, a nice couple, were very welcoming. I will definitely be returning soon.
We did not consider a meal, although we have heard that the food and service are fabulous. We stopped to see the manor and went on a tour inside and then outside around their other historic buildings! WOW! What a piece of history: the buildings, the...roads, even the "Garbage Gobbler" in front of the highway!! Thank you for preserving this historic jewel!!
We arrived on a bus tour … 50 of us … we were served hot pot pies with a side of salad in a manner of minutes !! the service and food were amazing!!! the little gift shop was so interesting with unique items …...would definitely stop in there again ….
