Bidra med feedbackI decided to seat there for lunch and ordered a pizza. Bad choice. The pizza was below average, service was slow. Maybe I should have ordered something else.
We got our food fast even if there was a lot of other guests. We liked the food and loved the café gourmand dessert.
My family arrived for dinner around 830pm on Friday evening in June. We were surprised by how sleepy Arles is. We had expected more crowds. We were the only patrons in the restaurant the entire evening. Husband and I ordered price fixed menus. Daughter 1 ordered tortelli and daughter 2 ordered mozzarella pizza. My salad and fish main course were perfect. Husband also got fish and thought it was delightful. Daughter 1 enjoyed the tortelli. Daughter 2 did not like the pizza. It was much larger than the server led us to believe. The sauce was too sweet. The cheese had a strange taste to it. Not sure how to describe. Desserts were passably good. Service was slow but that is typical for dinner in Southern France. Mosquitos started to attack before we finished. As others have said, they are aggressive. We would definitely eat there again, preferably for lunch to avoid mosquitos as dusk. And we would avoid the pizza next time.
This little place situated on a small sqaure in Arles exemplifies good quality, home cooked french food. Some previous reviewers have had bad things to say about the pizza, but that's not what you go to this place for. You go there for the local Chorizo, the duck in honey and Lavender sauce, the Ratatouille and the bull in red wine stew! Very reasonably priced with 3-courses starting at 12-13euro, this place is one not to be missed!
We picked this restaurant after looking at many menus. We had the price fixe lunch and chose the bull stew. It was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and we felt we it was a good value.
