Bidra med feedbackWhere do I start? This gem is an absolutely haven of great food, drinks, live music, stunning walks, stunning scenery, loads of Deer Squirrels just walking about chilling out. Staff are fab,so helpful with your onward journey, full of kindness humour. We stayed in a campervan in their car park,as long as you got permission,it's perfect. Can't wait till to go back.
This historic lodge is tricky to find (it took us a couple of tries) but this charming place is not to be missed. A warm fire, friendly staff and lots of convivial conversation greeted us. We had venison sausage with a delicious onion compote and smoked salmon as a starters. Both were excellent. Our mains were rack of lamb and venison medallions. The lamb could have been a little more pink but was very tasty nonetheless. The venison was tender and rare as requested. A splendid evening and a great meal.
Stayed here again this weekend. It’s my go to place. It’s a sanctuary. The food and service is always good here. I even went for the raspberry cheesecake, It reminds me of staying in my Granny’s. The rooms are functional and comfortable and as usual had a good nights sleep woke up to a lovely breakfast and headed back to the real world.
This is a wonderful country restaurant. We had the wild venison sausage with pickled onion and side salad, which was excellent and great value. The servers were all very friendly and the Guinness was smooth. Great place to stop for lunch or dinner. Worth the detour!
Lovely restaurant with a good pint of Guinness. Great location. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings in peace with delicious food , we got the lamb stew and chicken curry , it was gorgeous. Friendly staff, good service and great Guinness. We will be back!
