Dirtwater Springs - Apache Junction

I tried the Dirtwater burger and it was amazing! The twisted tea on tap was also really good with just a hint of lemon. The restaurant was very busy, but we were still able to place our order quickly.

I had been eager to visit this restaurant for some time, so I followed my friends' recommendations and finally went. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming hospitality added to the charm of this rustic place. It was a great experience overall.

Do not go to this restaurant unless you enjoy finding hair in your food and dealing with cross-contamination issues. The health inspector should seriously re-evaluate what is going on here.

The Dirtwater Springs is sinking like the Titanic. The food has gone from the best to the worst. Those big thick fresh chunks of Alaskan cod have been replaced with frozen breaded cod filets When frozen fish is deep fat fried the frozen water has a tendency to boil the fish while it’s frying in the deep fat fryer. The finished product has a mushy texture to it, unlike fresh cod breaded and deep fat fried it has a flakey texture to it. The Dirtwater Springs used to be one of the busiest places in all Apache Junction at one time. They had the best fried cod of them all. At one time the fish fry was only 7.95 for all you could eat. The cost of fish has gone up over the years. The price here is now 13.65 for all you can eat. That’s ok if they are serving big thick fresh chunks of Alaskan cod . But when they are serving frozen breaded cod filets the size of Mrs. Paul’s Fish Sticks it becomes a rip off. It’s so bad here that the long term employee’s are quitting. The cook that was there for years has been long gone. And the kid that replaced him just quit recently. Think twice before you waste your hard earned money on this dump. Even Cobb’s 3000 feet down the trail is better than Dirtwater Springs. Wake up Dick Park’s and smell the coffee, your place is going down the drain. 06/19/2014

A little expensive. the nic nacs have a customs dust on them over the head while they eat. the flesh was very good. Cartoa were spectacular. I saw someone getting a hamburger next table. it looked big and pretty good. the service was good, but I could say that she really works hard to maintain. I'll be back.
