Entr'Cote & Ocean - Ansac-sur-Vienne

I have visited this restaurant twice in the past three months. On each occasion it was at lunchtime and we opted for the menu du jour. Each time it was in a family group and all were satisfied with the choice and amount of food. Although menu du jour there was a choice. Seafood is a speciality and the prawn entree superb. We did find that the standard of chips varied considerably between the two occasions. The only other downside to me was the taste of the red wine served with the meal. The menu included , entree, plat, desert, wine and coffee. Service was attentive although can be somewhat hectic when the restaurant is full. However you have to admire them for their ability to deal with the pressure.Do not be put off by the exterior of the restaurant as it looks a bit like a commercial unit. However once inside it is spacious and very well presented. You do have to look for it if you are going there for the first time as it is off the main thoroughfare along the little road running alongside the Maison du temps libre.

Have eaten here several times in the last 3 years. Is a bit off the beaten track and whilst the exterior looks more like a small workshop inside it is much more attractive. We were there again on two occasions last week and both times we had really good food served in a most friendly and welcoming fashion. Value for money is exceptional, because portion sizes are generous, prices are very reasonable and choice and quality are as good as any other restaurant for 20 miles around. Deserves to be much more popular. Warmly recommended.

This is our second visit to this restaurant, both for Sunday lunch. Four course meal for under 30 euros with each course of excellent quality and generous portions. Heartily recommended.

We were en route to The Reclamation Yard and needed lunch and found this place and what a lovely surprise - excellent value, excellent meal and really good value. I had sea food gratin and my husband had the porc starter and we both had roti chicken with chips which came with a lovely jus - 1/4 bottle of great wine included all for 12 euro's - fabulous. Lovely and warm and welcoming on a cold day. Great service, great food, immaculate loos. Very happy.

We arrived exactly at noon. An hour later the kitchen had delivered food to over 40 covers. I have seldom seen staff work so quickly and efficiently and all with good grace and a smile. Evidently very popular with local workers who know they will be able to get a good meal and return to work on time. Our meals were delicious, and the prices very reasonable. Highly recommended
