Le Belvédère - Annecy

A pleasant experience on a terrace overlooking lake Annecy and mountains behind. Hats offered to diners on terrace. Exceptional cheese selection. Very professional friendly service. Some very good courses. Lieu noir with jus de veal for example.

This was our first dinner in France and we had been awake for more than 24 hrs. I was actually contemplating canceling the reservation and I am so glad that we didn't. It was the most beautiful night out and the view of the lake...was breathtaking we ate outside on the patio area. All the food was at least worthy of the one Michelin star rating. There were savory macarons to start and then we had the tasting menu. To start, we each had a glass of champagne, and you could see that they opened a bottle just for us. None of this flat champagne that has been sitting since the night before. This impressed me to begin with. We chose to try the tasting menu. For starters, I had the salmon and my husband had the foie gras . He is very fussy about foie gras and he was extremely impressed by this presentation. It was at another level as opposed to the normal bloc of foie that is so often served. The fish course with the flowers (often pictured here) was almost to pretty to eat. It was so fresh and interesting. There was also a very light veal course with a pea puree. We had two half bottles of local wine one red and one white, both of which were excellent. I believe that one should try the local wine as it generally pairs well with the regional cuisine. Then there was the cheese course, of which I cannot say enough. The region is known for its cheese and almost every one must have been represented. It was displayed beautifully and it was so difficult to choose which to sample. The wait staff that was in charge of the cart was extremely helpful in making the selection. I had the most visually amazing rhubarb orb for dessert. I was so impressed with the orb, that I can't remember what my husband had. Everything was just perfect. The service was impeccable, right down to the presentation of the bread selection. We ate at two and three star restaurants on this trip, yet we both agree that our dinner at Le Belvedere was the high light and something that we will remember forever. Beyond the exceptional view, we spent a wonderful evening thanks to a warm welcome, a quality service and dishes of an unheardly finesse. we cannot validate the opinions that criticize the quantities, the value ratio, the service. the viewpoint is up to its proposals.

Super romantic meal, beautiful frame worthy of a postcard, very beautiful reception, very beautiful signature dish, times vanilla fat and the famous cigar, trolley of gargantuesque cheese. really a very beautiful house that would deserve to find his star. bravo to the whole team
