Exotic Syrian Deli And Bakeries

I've been a fan of this restaurant for years. The food is consistently delicious. The rice pudding feels like little clouds from the sky. I just wish I could visit more often and that the rice pudding was available more frequently!

We tried this place for a day cake Fruit Chaunte. They were very accommodating to make it on a small timeline ~30 hours. This place will only feel free to send them to weekends to place the order. Needless to say, the cake was amazing and the cream was fresh from the world.

I love this place. Great people. And the best tabuli in the universe. No question.

The Mujadara I ordered was made with ground rice, and the lentils were mushy, resulting in a dish that resembled a dry, unappealing mix of beans and rice. It seemed as though butter had been carelessly added, and there were no crunchy onions to enhance the flavor. The Loubieh (green beans in tomato sauce) tasted burnt, reminiscent of food that had been stored in a commercial refrigerator for too long, despite the server insisting it was freshly made that morning—an odd claim. I paid almost $20 for both dishes, but they were so poorly prepared that we ended up throwing them away. This was the worst food I've had in years. Additionally, the server heated the food in cheap clear plastic containers in the microwave without asking us first; I would have preferred to eat it cold instead. There are far better options in Ann Arbor for the same price.

Despite this initial hiccup, I was still eager to get home and enjoy my favorites. Unfortunately, most items were underwhelming; the Kefta was dry, and the Cucumber Yogurt had a strong plastic taste. The Spinach Devine, however, was still enjoyable. Typically, I would have multiple meals from my à la carte choices, but this time, I ended up having to throw everything away. I would only consider returning if the deli and bakery counter reopens to the public so I can see my options in person. I’m not quite ready to give up on one of my favorites in Ann Arbor, so I hope Exotic takes this feedback to heart!
