Mcdonald's - Ankeny

My goodness do I have many things to say about this place. From what I’ve heard from some employees here they aren’t treated okay. I’ve heard stories about only two people being in the kitchen at night because the Manager couldn’t schedule more even tho you legally have to have 3 or more. I knew someone who worked here and had to close by himself and didn’t leave till 3 in the morning then had to do a morning shift the next day. A hand full of the employees step behind a certain corner and hit there vapes or get high most of them teenagers . Some employees drink while on the job and post videos about it. A lot of the time they aren’t allowed their mandatory breaks. Last but not least the amount of times I’ve gone in here and heard the nasty comments and conversations they have is insane. One time I went in to pick my friend up and a group of employees where just throwing around the n word like it didn’t matter all of them caucasian . Obviously the Managers aren’t doing anything and neither is HR apparently so I would stay far away from this McDonalds.

If you 're looking for a fast food then this isn 't the place. They have non existent service here and this location even out does the other two locations in Ankeny. All you hear is the employees complaining, huffing and puffing and cussing in the back. Not sure why they 're frustrated when they can 't get any of the orders correct. Avoid this place at all cost. People seriously need to start talking with their wallets and stop giving in to this location. This McDonald 's should not be in business anymore. Edit: On 7/26/24 I went in for a Doordash order and they never received it. Unassigned the order after 15 minutes of waiting. I later get another order from this same McDonald 's. They take another 10 minutes. I had to call Doordash support and have them unassign the order since they are taking too long. I even went as far as having doordash block this specific McDonald 's due to the absolute TERRIBLE and non existent customer they have. Seriously screw this place, I lost money thanks to them.

Normally you'd call this Ankeny's good McDonald's, today that would be a lie. 20 minutes and 2 trips inside just to have the order correct. Easiest order ever, happy meal, 5 bucks deal, and a mcdouble. Somehow that was screwed up that much.

Make sure to check your order before you leave the drive up. It is food to fill your stomach when you are starving. It is not prepared with care (mostly kids are employed and simply do not care). Fries are sometimes cold and limp. Drinks are sometimes just carbonated water, and topping on your sandwich can be hit or miss. Sometimes the toppings are what you ordered and other times they are completely wrong.

Absolutely horrendous service McDonald never seen more people waiting for their food Over 25 minutes to get ice cream do not recommend
