Bidra med feedbackThis is my favorite sushi place in Anchorage. Very nice atmosphere inside and simple parking. Large menu, they offer more free pages for dinner than anywhere else (emama, noodles, salad and mi). My favorite is the cripple roll and I will often take away here. Cheaper than most other places I was!
Eat wonderful. The staff asks and helpful. The service is fast and correct. Calm atmosphere. Loves this place for lunch and does not wait for the next visit to dinner. I took my husband and took a menu so that I can get home from time to time! Highest compliment you could have. He's very fussy! You're a class act.
One of the rolls didn’t arrive until an hour after we had finished eating. After waiting, we asked about it, and he apologetically admitted that he had forgotten to input it into the system. Again, we didn’t think much of it at the time. However, when the bill arrived, we found that we were charged for the roll. In all our dining experiences, we had always seen forgotten items taken off the bill. When we asked our new server about removing the charge, he said he couldn’t do that. When we requested to speak to a manager, he hesitantly went to ask a woman at the front of the restaurant about our request. After waiting again, she came to our table with our server following her. She explained that they couldn’t take the roll off the bill. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, she launched into a rant: “Since this was your waiter’s mistake, if you don’t want to pay for the roll, I’ll have to deduct it from his paycheck. He will have to cover your roll because it was his fault.” We were taken aback, utterly shocked by her response. Naturally, we objected to this unreasonable treatment. In reaction to her bullying, we decided to leave a negative review online. It was distressing to see this young server, only in his second week, being publicly humiliated due to the poor training provided by management. To make matters worse, we later learned that the management team had changed only a week prior. In conclusion, I would rate the previous management five stars, but the current management deserves zero stars. I cannot support such treatment, so I won’t be returning to Sushi Yako. Before we left, we made sure to have a private conversation with our server to commend him, reassure him that all was well, and slip a tip into his pocket so he wouldn’t have to forfeit it.
The food is tasty, but the service during lunchtime is lacking. We have ordered lunch to go several times and really enjoyed it. However, last week, my wife and I decided to dine in for dinner, which turned out to be a mistake. We were seated right away and given menus, but no one offered us water. The restaurant was quite busy, yet the waitstaff didn’t seem to acknowledge our presence at all. We waited for over 20 minutes without even a glance from the servers. I attempted to catch a waitress's attention for a glass of water so I could take a pill for a headache, but it felt like they were purposely avoiding us. It was very disappointing. After waiting for 30 minutes, we left without anyone even noticing. While the food is great, the service definitely needs improvement. My recommendation: stick to takeout.
Their All Day Happy Hour is fantastic! All sushi rolls, with the exception of a few special ones, are priced at just $9.99. I heard someone mention that this pricing has been recently updated to...
