Beacon Ale House - Amherstburg

We have visited this restaurant twice before with our service dog, a small French bulldog. The first time, we were stopped by a waitress who said they do not allow dogs. We informed her that our dog is a service dog, but it seemed to be a problem. During our second visit, we were once again stopped by a waitress who remembered us and repeated the same message about dogs not being allowed. Today, we were met with a similar response from a waiter who stuck his head out of the door to inform us that dogs are not allowed, despite us explaining that our dog is a service animal. It is evident that this restaurant does not welcome dogs, which is unfortunate. In times like these, it would be a great idea for businesses to be more accommodating to those with service animals. We opted to dine at a nearby restaurant, The Salty Dog, where dogs are welcomed with open arms. If you rely on a service dog and want to feel welcome wherever you go, I suggest avoiding this restaurant as they are clearly unwilling to accommodate your furry companion. Our experience has left us with no desire to return to this establishment.

The cocktails at this restaurant are unique and the drinks are good. However, on my last visit, I overheard a server loudly complaining about a new team member who had just been hired. This kind of behavior is not acceptable in a professional setting, and it was disappointing to see the cozy and intimate atmosphere of the establishment affected by this negativity. Instead of complaining, the server should have tried to help and support the new team member. This kind of toxic working environment is not something I want to support, so I will not be returning to this establishment. Bullying and cruel behavior have no place in the workplace.

We visited with friends last night and had a wonderful time. Alba was our server and took great care of us. The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of dishes and their bacon chips with dip were delicious. Even though it was late in the evening, we decided to try some items from their new menu and were impressed. The terrace seating allowed us to enjoy the weather while dining. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

Eat was good, chips were the best I had in one. a little expensive because of his situation, but I would recommend a visit to this place.

Great location, very cute little restaurant but, the service was sub par and the food quality was poor. Both the burger as well as the fish came with 'chips ' that were REALLY overcooked and super tasteless. If the waitress would have ever returned to check...on us, I 'd have added anything to give them some pizazz. The burger was dinky as well.
