Friendly, attentive staff along with generous portions made for a nice dinner. Food was fresh, hot and appealing. Lived in Ames over 10 years, this was our first time to Flame and Skewer. Decent place to get a nice sandwich, fries (and some apps. Deep fried mushrooms sweet potato fries very good! Parking: Closest parking was in the lot near Walgreen's.

That was a great sound! a bit hard to find, but we have and I am very happy! we had both ribeye steak and it was deliciously perfect!

There were 2 shrimp shell pieces mixed in with my fries. Unfortunately I didn?t see the pieces until I had eaten most of my food. I had a patty melt and my partner had a gyro so there was absolutely no reason for shrimp to have come in contact with our food in any capacity. It felt like an allergy hazard and it was definitely off-putting to the point where I didn?t finish my food. Also a random guy was walking around the restaurant asking if we ate which was confusing because they were in gym shorts and a baseball cap and no apron or uniform to indicate that they were in any way affiliated with the restaurant. Just a very bizarre experience. On the plus side, our waitress was very kind, and the service was fast.
